180 by Zlatko Ćosić Each video within "180" was originally created for three different sets of the 60x60 Project, which is comprised of Ćosić’s 60 videos with 60 second compositions by 60 different composers. These one hundred eighty videos form a new visual structure which inspired the creation of sixty seconds of sound to accompany the final audio visual experience. 180 (1 min.) It seems jam packed with excitement as the viewer never gets enough and he/she always sees something new every time the "watch" button is pressed. Even though I know the piece is only a minute long, there is so much to see and it is so finely matched with the sounds attached, that it always seems like it is a much longer piece. R D Zurick Zlatko Cosic's 180 sets traditional communication on its ear. It's impossible to look at it the same way twice. If there is intelligent life in space beyond our planet, this may well be how they communicate with each other. William Morris Alien civilizations could study this piece for generations. It is deeply organized, yet unpredictable. It shows pieces of a world, or perhaps multiple worlds. It could be a Rosetta Stone for non-human intelligence. No matter what, the interstellar void needs these patterns. Van McElwee SONG FOR 180 (1 min.) [mp3] CONCERTS, BROADCASTS & MUSIC FESTIVALS :: 60x60 Radio Request Extravaganza, What's Next? It is a moving painting literally. With repeated viewings, the filmgoer will catch additional nuggets of eye candy. I believe that his collage definitely demands to be viewed on a large screen. All moving, all colorful, this short demonstrates the power of the moving image. It is a fascinating edifice. :: 60x60 Presenters Mix 2012 at EDAU by Patricia Walsh :: DAILY 49ER - Sixty Songs in Sixty Minutes (podcast) 60x60 Project is an audio-visual project containing 60 compositions from 60 different composers, each composition 60 seconds or less in duration with 60 experimental videos for each composition created by Zlatko Ćosić. |
